wet bag - worth it? (not CD related)

We aren't CD but the pp re: what to pack in the diaper bag got me thinking... should I purchase a wet bag for soiled clothes or just use a ziplock?? Is it worth it to buy one specifically for this purpose? (I have no idea how much they cost!).  Where would you recommend I buy one if I decide to go that route?  Just curious as to what other July Moms are doing!!  Thanks!

(in theory, they are reusable so like the idea....)

  • I didn't even think about a wet bag, but my mom got me one for my baby shower. :]

  • I just used a ziplock with my ds and it worked fine.  I liked that I could just throw it out if needed.

Considering they are pretty inexpensive (less than $20) and you can wash and re-use over and over, I'd get one for keeping in the diaper bag.
  • Ive always just used grocery bags. Never saw the need for anything else.

  • It all depends on you. I got some GroVia wetbags, they were the least expensive that I could find and we are cloth diapering.

The + of the wetbag is that they are very sturdy, a grocery bag can get a hole poked into it so can a ziplock, these will take some work to poke a hole in!

These can also be used when LO is out of diapers when you go swimming to put wet costumes into.

Where we live grocery bags are no longer free, we use big reusable bags so if we went any other way I'd end up paying for bags, at least I can put these in the laundry.

  • We are CDing so I registered for some heavy duty ones from Amazon. I saw one that I believe was Munchkin brand for around $10 at Target. Totally worth it.

I am planning to CD but I wanted to say that I already use a wetbag now... I put all our dirty dishcloths & cleaning rags in it and then I wash them once a week. It cuts down on the smell & it keeps them all in one place.

  • I got a wetbag at Target for under 10 bucks.  I just happened to see one and picked it up, I had never heard of one before!

I agree. My friends with kids use these bags all the time - for diapers, miscellaneous baby stuff, swimsuits, snacks, etc. I received a ju-ju-be one off my amazon registry, and I bought another one I liked on Etsy (cool outside fabric choices).

I have one b/c I use CD's. I got a Planet brand online for $10. I don't think you necessarily need it for soiled clothes. A ziploc will do. The main purpose of a wet bag is to prevent wicking for CD's.
