For those that had UTI's, what were your symptoms?

I know the symptoms are different when you are pregnant.

(sorry, TMI)

If I am using the bathroom more, it takes a while to get started. Also, I tend to feel pain in the lower abdomen if i wait a bit long.

I have no fever or chills or back pain though. Thanks in advance!

I had the trouble you posted about with starting to pee, also I felt like I always had to go, when I did go it would be like two drops, I had a little pain if I tried to hold it also I never felt relief even when I went. Seriously cranberry juice does work drink lots of it.

The only symptom I had was white blood cells in the dip stick at the Dr. Had no clue.

I had no clue at my 9-week appointment. Then I thought about it, and I think I was having lower abdomen pains. I thought it was just pregnancy, though. Then at about 17 weeks I felt a very slight burning sensation after peeing. I'm thinking maybe the UTI didn't go away completely from my 9-week appointment. I don't know though... I was checked at 11, 12, and 15 weeks as well, so I guess it was new one. At my 19 week appt, I was clear again.

I can definitely tell when I am about to get one. Needing to go more often, and feel like if you don't go you'll pee all over yourself. Burning in abdomen and towards the end of peeing. My urine started to look like grapefruit juice with blood in it. Go to the dr just to rule it out. You don't want that to get out of control, and they can really quickly!

I have had 2, at 7 weeks I had no symptoms, the doctor just found it in my urine sample. The second one at 14 weeks I had some slight discomfort like pressure on my bladder, which I thought was probably just from the pregnancy, but when I went in just to have it checked out, I had another UTI. My symptoms are NOTHING like the ones I've had not pregnant- I remember how awful and uncomfortable I was with them then, though it's been probably 5-7 years since I'd had one, so needless to say I was surprised to have 2 this pregnancy with zero or little symptoms.

I haven't had one while pregnant (knock on wood!), but I imagine they would still be hard to mistake for much else- the pain you feel when trying to pee and having nothing come out is very distinct, often burning. You also do not feel any sense of relief after you go, because very little tends to come out. And I second the previous comment about cranberry juice- total lifesaver! I drink it regularly now every since my first UTI years ago... IMO, the Stop N Shop "Nature's Promise" brand is the best, and closest to all-natural I could find.

I have a doctor's appointment next week so I will be sure to get it checked out. I had no idea they could go undetected given how painful the un-pregnant ones are!

I actually had bloody urine and it felt like someone was pushing on my belly while I went to the bathroom. The bloody urine was terrifying since I had no idea it could be a UTI. I have been drinking cranberry juice ever since. I sometimes mix it with a little sprite just to help with the flavor.

If I were you I would try to get in sooner to give a urine sample even if you dont see the Dr. that day. I started getting a UTI last tuesday and taking meds wednesday. They werent strong enough. I was out of town over the weekend and ended spending the weekend in L&D. Not fun it got out of control really fast and turned into a bad kidney infection.
