I have no idea what happened - Jackson's always loved bathtime but last night as soon as we put him in, he started shrieking like he was being hurt or something. We pulled him out and decided to skip bath, thinking it was a freak thing but tonight, again, he's screaming bloody murder, as DH bathes him.
Is this a common thing for this age? He's 15 months.
Re: Bathtime Awful, All of a Sudden?
It's a phase. Most kids go through it. With E, it took an entire month to get her back into the tub. It was a pain.
Just be patient and don't push too hard because you don't want to make their fears even greater.....
Hope it's short lived for you.......
bath crayons
as soon as he realizes 'oh.... cool'~ he will forget whatever irked him about bathtime.
if not. Try a shower.
okey dokey, thank you.
Yes... bath crayons would be awesome. If I could get him to bathe in the regular tub and not in the duck.
cannot get him to stay on his butt in the regular tub and it scares me to death. he WILL NOT sit. And the stupid tub is that textured fiberglass so bath seats won't stick. Neither will bath mats. I'm so tired of that damn duck.
None of my kids like showers at all. I've tried.
Also, try different bath toys - they may work as well.
With E, nothing really worked (she didn't care about bath paints, crayons, toys, etc.) I actually had to get in WITH her and B for a good 3 weeks.....each time, I would exit earlier and earlier until one day I didn't get in and she was fine.
GL!
DS#1 went back and forth for a long time. Sometimes baths were great, sometimes they were the worst possible thing that could happen!
Fortunately, baths have been good for quite awhile now :-) And DS#2 loves them too. Now that they are old enough to take baths together, they have the best time!

Can you get the kind that adheres permanently to the tub?
