I'm still working on the full birth story, but I thought I'd post an announcement as I'm finally paying a visit to the Bump for the first time since Amos was born 3 weeks ago!
Here's the very short version: We had a planned homebirth, and it went much quicker than I expected. The whole thing was less than 4 hours, and my body just pushed him out without me having to think about pushing. I woke my husband up after laboring for awhile, when I felt like I needed some support, and 45 minutes later, A was born. He ended up popping out about 5 minutes before the midwife arrived, so my husband and I caught him in the water and just chilled out till she got there (I was totally stunned that he was already born). It was 4:45am, and big sister L was sleeping upstairs. When she awoke, she got to meet her little brother.
We've settled in well and we make a great breastfeeding team, which makes life so much simpler in the early days.
