March 2011 Moms

I'm a milk machine!

Apparently making milk is my special talent....  today alone I have pumped 39 and 1/2 oz.  I'm an EPer and everyday I seem  to pump more and more.  My freezer stash is looking pretty darn sweet!  I'm considering donating some, any suggestions on where I should donate to?
Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Wow!!! That would be wonderful to donate, if it's important to you just make sure they are not "for profit". They were talking about this at a LLL meeting I went to yesterday.

  • I'm jealous! I'm EBFing, but trying to pump to build a freezer stash, and also will have to pump when I go back to work next month. Yeah...I have a measly 20 ounces stored up so far! I can't produce at all for the pump, which sucks, because if I can't keep up with her demands when I go back to work, we'll have to supplement with formula. :(

Good for you and good for you for donating!!  Try Eats on Feets. It will connect you with moms in need of breastmilk, and lets you guys coordinate your donations. Unlike the main companies, no one is charged for this service.

What type of pump are you using?  That could be the problem.  I use the medela freestyle and it has actually worked better than the hospital grade we rented for the first month.

  • I only pump 5 times a day.  I usually get around 6 ounces per pump except for the first one of the day and I get anywhere from 10-14 then.
