Hi, this will be my first summer as a SAHM. I am scared! I was wondering what are some good resources for me to find fun things to do with the kids? We live in the medical center area. Are there websites you like to go to? Also, any suggestions of things to keep an eye out for this summer. My children are almost 4 and almost 1. thanks!
Re: Houston Activities Websites for Summer Fun?
Houston Family Magazine has a monthly calendar with lots of great ideas. They also have a website -https://houstonfamilymagazine.net/
The libraries also usually have fun kids programs throughout the summer.
Here are a few sites that I visit:
https://gocitykids.parentsconnect.com
www.houstonfamilymagazine.com
www.macaronikid.com (there is a SW Houston one with newsletter and website)
www.famplosion.com (I just came across this one ... don't know how helpful it will be yet)
The Nature Discovery Center (https://www.naturediscoverycenter.org/) in Bellaire isn't that far from you. They have a free story time on Wednesday afternoons at 4pm and they have Discovery Rooms with live animals, specimens, hands on exhibits, puzzles, crafts, etc. that are open to the public free of charge Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 5:30pm. The Discovery Rooms also include some toddler toys. The Center is is Russ Pitman Park which has trails, picnic tables, and a playground, so there is lots to do.
