Sonoline B not working ?!?!

Has anyone here had any problems with their Sonoline B? I just got it this week and have used it successfully about 3 times. I just went to use it again and there is no sound coming out of it. Even with the volume up to the max. It will not even pick up my heartbeat and the screen keeps flashing "- - -." I've turned it on and off, switched batteries, read the manual, smacked it around, hit the mode button several times...nothing is working Crying

anyone else have this problem??
