Active Newborn

DS is constantly kicking, punching the air and tossing his head. He's been like this since before he was 2 weeks old. I've never seen a newborn like him. He doesn't whine or complain when he's kicking and punching. Our pediatirican mentioned at his last appointment that he's developing neurologically faster than the standard child so I suspect that may be the cause but I wonder if anyone else has a newborn that doesn't stop moving.

Does anyone else have a wiggle worm?

  • yep i do since the first week>>>>>he does not stop lol

my mom says i was the same?

he is also easily irritated lol

    i yours?

hates being swaddled/restricted in any way :)

  • He doesn't roll, he tries to crawl. He does baby push-ups from time to time, but usually just holds his head up and kicks himself forward

Very easy! The doctor even joked that he already has quite a temper!

  • DD is always really active when she's laying down. When we were still in the hospital she was laying in her bassinet the one day just kicking her legs like crazy. When we do tummy time, she'll move her legs like she's trying to army crawl and if I prop her up on her Boppy, I have to watch her closely because she'll push off with her legs and almost somersault over the top of it.

Us too! Even when he is eating he is constantly moving his arms and legs, sometimes he'll just move his hands and count-puts his first finger up, then his middle, then his ring finger, it's so cute I guess I used to to that too Stick out tongue But I'm not terribly surprised by how active he is because he NEVER stopped moving around when he was an inside baby. DH and I are a little nervous to see what a handful he will be when he is mobile...eek!

  • When he's eating is by far the worst! I had a c-section and since birth he kicks while he eats. My stomach is always getting attacked. Sometimes by the end of the day I just want to wrap ice packs around me. Crazy kicky babies!

  • Gavin is also a kicker when he eats and he arms are often flailing!  The temper is also very apparent in him lol...we are not sure where he got it?  When he is hungry you sure know it smirks.  My pedi said 3 months he will calm down a bit...we will see.  Personally I like him with a little spunk.  :)
