Tonight will be DS's first night in his room

Lately, DS has been more of a light sleeper, and our noises (squeaky bed when one of us rolls over, H's snoring, etc) have been causing him to stir and fuss more often. Even so, he's been STTN for us a few times a week. Yay! For those reasons, we've decided to try putting him in his crib tonight, in his own room, instead of in the PNP next to our bed where he's always been.

I'm a little nervous to see how it goes, but lately putting him down for the night has been a breeze. Especially after a bath, we swaddle and give him a warm bottle and he's down for the count. I really, really hope the next few nights go well- and that I don't miss my l'il man too much during the night. Smile Has anyone already transitioned to the nursery? How did it go? Is LO sleeping better or worse?

  • Mj has been sleeping in his crib since night 1 at home. I think if he'd been in our room nobody would get any sleep.  As it is he's been STTN since a few weeks old.  Also we have a baby monitor so I can always hear what's going on in his room even though  his room is right next to ours.

  • We did and we're not turning back!  It's been glorious.  We wanted to establish some sort of something for when I went back to work, so we started putting LO in his crib at roughly 9 weeks.  He slept wonderfully.  We've been very fortunate in that we bathe, read, nurse and he's out like a light (most nights).  GL- hope the transition is a smooth one for you!

  • We moved LO at about 8 weeks and its been a breeze!! I think she's STTN every night since she's been in there. When she was in our room she was still waking once a night. We have a good routine going and she loves her crib.

At first I missed her and got sad thinking of her being in this big room all alone, but I got over it when I realized I can watch TV in bed again!!

  • We started DD in the crib at night at around 3 mos and so far so good.  It's great having our bedroom back to ourselves!  We have the monitor next to our bed and her room is right across from ours.  We still have to get up 1-2x a night to feed her (sigh) but she eats, burps and is back down in about 25 minutes.

  • Good luck!  I wish I could "cut the cord" and let her sleep in her own room instead of in the RnP in our room.  She would probably be fine.  I'm hoping for 4 months.
