Weird ? for Moms of Girls

K does Tumblebees. We send her in a T and leggings these days but I have noticed ALL the little girls in the 3 year old class (which she starts in the fall) wear leotards. So here's my weird question - when your girl wears a leotard do you keep her underwear on or does she go commando?

I have been trying to see what the other little girls are wearing but I feel a bit pervy eyeballing these little girls in leotards. :P I would think no underwear but then I'm not sure and I don't want to be the gross mom who is the only one that sends her without underwear.

    I was a gymnast for about ten years and we never wore underwear with our leotards. However, we could always tell who the beginner gymnasts were because they did wear underwear. Some girls would wear bike shorts over or under their leotards.

    I danced for 10 years, no undies, sometimes thong underwear and we wore dance sweats over top on some days or leggings.

    When I was in dance (many years ago) I didn't wear undies.

    What would make her comfy? Will she be telling everyone she isn't wearing any underwear? That could be funny. :)

    Hahaha.  This just reminded me of a time when I was about 5 and my sister was 4....she randomly blurted out "my Dad doesn't wear underwear" to our neighbors.  I still chuckle when I think about what must have been going through their heads.

    As the mom of a little girl that does ballet and as a former gymnast/ballerina myself, I recommend no panties.

    Ava wears underwear on her leotard and tights to her dance class, but she also wears a ballet skirt over the leotard so underwear can't be seen and they don't seem to bunch up or bother her under there.  I do remember though that my dance teacher when I was a child always said no underwear.  I just decided I'd keep her in them until someone says otherwise.  I just figured that is what she's used to and she's little and this is a class that's just for fun... when she's older, I'm sure there will be some kind of dress code about it.
