Mr. Fussy Pants

LO is 5 weeks and it seems like if he is not eating, sleeping or being held he is crying. We can't seem to figure out why he get so upset when we put him down. Could it be reflux? Or do we just have a super needy baby?

At night he eats about 11pm, 2am, 6am, 8am then every 2 hours the rest of the day.  He is awake for about 1 hour and sleeps for 1 hour between each feeding.

He's still a newborn and newborns want to be held!  He'll start being ok on his own more and more.  In the meantime, get a good carrier so he can be close to you and see what you are doing while he's awake.

  • Mine is like this too and it's driving DH crazy!  I don't mind because I would prefer to cary LO around in the mody than have him in his swing for some reason.  I've been hypothesizing that maybe it's because he is bored...?  I could be way off base, but to me it seems like if I'm holding him and he gets to look around at things he's totally happy, but if he sits in one place and nothing in front of him is changing, he gets fussy within 5 minutes.

I have thought this too, because I know I would be totally bored. And when I'm walking around he just looks around the house and it totally content. I haven't mastered the Moby wrap yet but we do have a carrier that I guess I need to break out of the closet.

The main reason it concerns me is that at the end of the month I will be bringing LO with me to work and I am just hoping I can get some work done!

  • Mine is the same way. He needs to be held and he needs me to be on the move. If he is still for 30 seconds, the fussies start. I stick him in the moby whenever I can so I can get stuff done while we are on the move and so he is entertained.
