Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Lainey doesn't want a little brother

That's the only conclusion I can come to as to why she decided she needed to be awake from 3-5:20.  I get up for work at 5:30 normally, so I've been up since 3.  AWESOME!  Who's having a shiitton of coffee with me this morning?

I think my allergies are kicking my @ss, I went to bed at 10 in a certain position.  When J woke up at 5:30 I woke up in the EXACT same position.  I hadn't moved a muscle all night.

    I wish I drank coffee.

  • I'll be like that this weekend (I'll be working). D has been giving me 4 hours of sleep, then up every 2. I wake up for work at 4 am. I'm already dreading it.

  • Sorry silly. Today is the only day Q actually let me get some sleep. She woke up at 5 crying and put herself back to sleep until 6. It was like heaven. Every other day this week I got up between 4:20-4:45 and then had to go to work.

    Hopefully she sleeps better tonight.

  • Are you still in the sleepsuit? Is she crying awake or just laying awake?

    I'm right there with you!

Kate was up from 11-12, 2-3, and then up for the day at 4:45.  I had a HUGE meeting this morning so I was downing coffee to make it through.

I hope you get some decent sleep tonight!

Yeah we're weaning TONIGHT.  She woke up hungry at 3, crying.  So we fed her 4.5 ounces, clearly this was not enough.  At 4:30 she was still awake, started screaming so I went back in and got her, made her 2 more ounces, still not enough.  At 5 I made her 4 more ounces and she ate 2 of them.  Apparently 8.5 ounces in the middle of the night is what she wanted.  She fussed between 5:10-5:20 but never cried again so I left her and she finally fell asleep.  I think she's going through a growth spurt and teething.  So we're going to ditch the suit while she's sleeping like crap anyways.  I think we might keep the paci for now though.

I was going to suggest this. Once H was doing crappy sleep, I ditched the swaddle on a night I had no plans the next day. And he actually SLEPT way better and has been since. I hope it goes as easy for you. I will be looking for the update. I am guessing teething and not a growth spurt. H wanted something to chew in the middle of the night while getting a tooth.

Mmmmm.  Coffee.  Lots of it here this morning, too.  I can only blame my sleep deprivation on myself though--I am the silly goose that has been waking at 5 am voluntarily so I can have a few minutes to myself and go workout.  It is worth it, but yes.  Coffee.  Lots of it.

Good luck weaning the magic sleepsuit!

If Lainey doesn't sleep, her parents won't have time or energy to make a little brother Stick out tongue

As in she's making me not want more kids because she's being a terror with her sleep.
