100-101* fever

I'm waiting to call the dr's office at 8:30, so until then maybe I could get some nestie advice.

We are on day 2 of a fever that ocillates somewhere between 100 & 101*F.  Sprout is almost 10 months old and exhibits no other symptoms of being sick other than being more cuddly than usual.

I'm thinking he's getting his eye teeth.

Normal or no?

UPDATE FROM DR's OFFICE: I'm to bring him in tomorrow if he still has a fever as a precaution.  Of course, I just took his temp & he's at 99 but that could be the tylenol talking....

Re: 100-101* fever

  • I think it's normal. Our daycare doesn't even consider the kids to be sick unless they have a fever above 101.

mine is 100*F.  I was in "this is normal" camp until I talked to my mom & she freaked me out.

T-minus 5 minutes until the dr's office is open.  I'll still call, but now I feel less frantic. :)

T had a weird fever like that last weekend.  I never took her temp. because it started Friday night and broke Sunday morning, so I didn't need to worry about daycare and it didn't feel hot enough to warrant a weekend ped. visit.  She was basically fine other than being hot, though slightly more drooly than usual, and so we also thought teeth.  Hopefully it's the same for Sprout and he feels better soon.

  • Could be an ear infection. Both of my kids are the weird kind that never get any of ht enormal symptoms of ear infections. Only occassionaly they get a fever with it, but usually it is their out of the ordinary behavior that gives me the clue.
