In the spirit of the post a few weeks ago encouraging lurkers to post more, and knowing this is one of the few groups of people who understand the need to celebrate each step... we had our home visit and had our home study approved today. We're oficially waiting! I'm braced for it to be years, but of course hoping it's a short wait.
Does anyone have anything they wish they had done during the wait that they didn't think of at the time?
Re: homestudy approved - Yay
We are just starting our journey and meeting with agencies so I don't have any advice. I just wanted to say congrats and I hope your wait is short!

First of all, YAY!!!! So exciting!
I wish I would have appreciated the time I had with DH a little more during the wait. More movies together, date nights, dinners out, that kind of thing. I probably would have relaxed a little more (OMG- I know how ridiculous that sounds, I really do) and done more for myself.
I hope you don't take any offense to any of my suggestions. I know that I would have probably gagged if someone told me to relax and have fun while I waited to be a mom.
Hooray for homestudy completion! I hope your wait is short! Now that we will hopefully be having our baby arrive soon, I just wish I had stressed less and enjoyed every day with DH more. Not easy to do, but people gave me that same advice and it did make me more aware!
As MayDay has been saying recently, everything changes in a day so enjoy all the days leading up to it!
Congratulations!!
I wish I had at least painted the baby room. You don't have to decorate or buy furniture if you don't want to, but if you plan on painting, I suggest get it done now. That was the hardest part. Since we had such a quick placement, we had to paint after we had him here. He was staying in our room in the beginning so he wasn't exposed to paint fumes, but it was a mess and would've been so nice to have it done.
I agree 100%!! Go out with your DH, relax, and SLEEP!!!!
Also something I am wishing now I had done was to get my address book updated. I'm having to try to find addresses now to send thank you cards and eventually announcement cards and it would have been helpful if I had those ready and all in one place prior to placement!!
