Update: We are taking your advice (well...kind of)

We've decided to lend my sister in law's the money.  Only because we know that they would do it for us and I know that they will pay us back.  I'm not really worried about that but we've decided that we are not going to use her credit cards to pay for half of the ivf.  We are just going to continue to scrimp and save like always and pay for it ourselves.

It makes me feel better knowing that I am not taking the easy way out by borrowing the money.  We've gone over our finances and we think that we will have the money by July. As long as we are super duper good.  In the meantime, we are going to do an injectable cycle in June.  We won't be able to buy ANYTHING until that time and maybe a little time afterwards but if we get a baby out of the deal, it will be worth it.

Thanks for all your advice, ladies!!!

  • I like your compromise! I think you'll love the sense of satisfaction you'll have when you know that you've saved all of the money yourself. You're a really sweet in-law to have!

We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

Thank you sweetie!!!  But I really believe in what goes around comes around.  And if we were ever in need, I'm sure that they would come to our rescue.  And even though it's going to SUCK not to buy anything and being on total purchasing lockdown, I am really going to enjoy when we write the check for our ivf.

Sounds like a great plan.  Good Luck with your saving.  :-)

After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption!  We are so excited to see what the future holds.
