Anybody else..?

Go to there appointment and find out that they are not as far along as they thought they were? I went yesterday thinking I was eight weeks and only turned out to be six weeks four days according to the ultrasound tech. It was kinda disappointing. I was hoping that I was further along if anything.

If I had not been charting, this would have happened to me. I had a 40+ day cycle. If I had calculated off of LMP, my EDD would have been a full 2 weeks earlier than what it is because I did not O until CD26.

It's entirely possible that you O'd later than you thought you did, which would have made conception later than expected.

Were you going off LMP only?

That could be accurate, but also sometimes during pregnancy the baby will have a slower start, and then have a huge growth spurt. So at your next appointment or appts further down the road, you could go right back to the due date you thought you had. Don't be disappointed; a healthy baby is the end goal, and if that means it needs to cook a little longer then that's okay.

Yep, at my appointment earlier this week, I figured I was 7w, 6d based on LMP. The baby measured exactly at 7 weeks, though. I figure it's a combination of ovulating a few days late and perhaps the slight margin of error of early ultrasound. I know what you mean - it made me feel like I now have to "redo" a week of pregnancy. But who knows, I was still given the same EDD, so maybe I'll "catch up."

Same here measured 6 days short from my calculations. It was the same with DD and she was via IVF so dating was exact. Leads me to believe not all babies develop exactly the same time but they all catch up.
