I've heard wonderful things about all three.
Beth Hardiman - I'm told that she is great but often runs very late. How supportive is she of natural birth(I am guessing a lot but I don't know)?
Arianna Stein - She is the CNM who used to work with Dr. Hardiman but now practices on her own as well as with MAMA (Midwives of Mt. Auburn). Is there a huge difference between birthing in Mt. Auburn's Bain Center and on the MAMA floor?
MAMA - This is who I thought I would go with, but they are essentially a doctor's office and I am a bit concerned that I will get the negatives of a busy ob without the positives of working with midwives.
Re: Dr. Beth Hardiman, CNM Arianna Stein, or MAMA?
I love, love, loved Dr. Hardiman! She was my Gyn when I moved to Boston, I saw her in Cambridge for about five years and once I moved to the south shore it was just too far to travel. I was single and not even sure if I wanted to get married/have kids, etc..but I used to tell people that if I had kids I wanted her to deliver them. I still remember the "coffee table" photo journal book in her office which captured her at work. So nice, personable and warm...I don't remember late or not, but I always would schedule as early as possible to try and avoid the patient back up.
Good luck in your choice selection!
