Just wondering if this sounds like a good idea... My front garden needs a lot of work and since I'm at home right now, I'd love to spend more time out there. There's basically no shade though and DS is only happy in his stroller or carseat for a little while. I was thinking that I might try to find a small tent... not sure if there's ones that would just easily pop together when I need it. That way, DS could stay nicely zipped inside (supervised of course) and be shaded while we're out in the front yard.
Would that work? Any other ideas?

I have this one and it's very nice. BUT it's a biitch to fold up. Last weekend I brought the exersaucer out and stuck a hat on him. He was fine for about 45 mins.

I don't see why not.. But have you thought about a packnplay.. My SIL would put a light blanket over top to create shade..
BUT hey this just popped into my head how about an umbrella! that would work too!

The pack n play would be a decent option... but it's all set up in our bedroom still for LO to sleep in every night. It would be a pain to haul it out every day, I think.

we have a thing of baby gates that snap together and you can make them into a circle or a rectangle ect, i put it outside while we wash our cars and if its really sunny i put a blanket over the top to keep the sun out but the wind can come throught the baby gates
My brother uses a little girl's pop up tent for his one year old daughter. She loves it! We've put DD in the pack and play with a blanket or umbrella for extra shade. We've also used a screened in pop up gazebo.
When it's already shady out, I prefer bringing her outside in her exersaucer.

I have a similar one from Genji that I plan to take on beach vacations and it works really well. It's easy to fold back once you look at the video a couple of times.
I have no experience with this but am thinking about getting one for the beach/lake this summer. The price looks pretty good as well.
