Update about my RE appointment

I met with the same RE yesterday that I met with back in December. She is very nice and understanding and the appointment went great. She did a full RPL bloodowrk panel (15 tubes of blood!) and DH is going back to get his Karyotype B/W done (only 1 tube! not fair lol). I have to call them on CD1 to come in for CD3 testing and schedule my HSG. It's alot but atleast we will get some kind of answers and I feel proactive. She wants us to wait to TTC until we get all the test results back so it looks like we will be TTA for atleast 2 cycles. The idea of waiting is tough but if it means bringing home a healthy baby I'm willing to wait!

For those of you ladies who have had testing or an HSG before do you have any suggestions or advice?

My HSG was all very simple, so my advice would be don't worry about it now. It was comparable to the worst pap exam ever, but I got to see my tubes on tv. Take care, and good luck.

Sounds like you will be making some progress, which is great! Waiting seems impossible but just take that time to enjoy yourself and you will find that it can actually be a good thing to take a break.

I have had an HSG in the past. I didn't have any trouble with it at all. Take some ibuprofen beforehand. It felt like a tiny AF cramp to me. I hope you find a similar experience. No matter what, it is worth it to get answers. GL!!

Good luck, the waiting is always the worst part. I had an HSG and my advice is to take whatever Advil they suggest. I took 4 30-minutes before and it wasn't horrible. I was able to drive myself and everything. Wasn't pleasant but wasn't horrible.

Thanks ladies. I'm not a patient person at all so the wait is going to be tough but I'm trying to just stay busy and focus on other things. Hearing your experiences with the HSG has helped. After googling exactly what an HSG consists of it had me really nervous about the procedure!

Mine was a little uncomfortable during the proceedure, but afterwards I was completely fine. My RE told me that it shouldn't be too painful unless your tubes are blocked.

Most people don't have any problems with the HSG and relate it to feeling like a bit of a rough Pap.

Mine, OTOH, felt like someone was setting off dynamite in my ute. Of course, both of my tubes were blocked so that's probably why.

Take the Ibuprofen they recommend and bring a pad for the leakage. You should be fine to drive and resume normal activities right after.

I hope you get some answers. I had the dye test done while I was under during my last laparascopy. I did have an SHG and that wasn't bad, mostly like a pap. Good luck!

I had an HSG last year and while it wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world it was bearable. I've been lucky and don't get AF cramps so for me it was a bit of a shock, but my m/c/post-d&c cramps were WAY worse- Just take some motrin an hour before you go and bring one of your own panty liners because the ones they give you are ginormous- good luck

I never stopped TTC. We had an HSG & it was easy with minimal pain for me. I've since had a full bloodwork panel, a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy, & he's had some tests run too. I was hopeful before every test that they would find something wrong, some explination for why we were where we were. Never did. So just know that test results may be hard to take either way.
