NBR: Left cheese in the car

Would you eat it? Its 74 out and the trunk was HOT left it in there for about 4-5 hours. Went to start getting stuff together for dinner and was looking for the fresh mozzarella that I bought today. Couldnt find it - ran out to the car to see that it was in the trunk - must of fell out of a bag. Its warm and soft - safe to eat? I put it in the fridge for now... What do yout hink... =)

Re: NBR: Left cheese in the car

  • I left 2 packages of cheese sticks in the car this afternoon for about an hour. It's 74 out here today too (i'm in NY). They were soft, but salvageable. IDK about 4-5 hrs though... maybe taste a small piece and see if it seems OK.

Aw boo. We coulda' had a playdate :-)

  • 5 hours in a hot trunk, no. And I'm usually pretty liberal when it comes to salvaging food that's been out too long.

  • I wouldn't either... but I also won't drink milk when it's a few days before the date... spoiled dairy skeeves me out.

I'm in NY too :) Westchester also!
