Umm... WHAT? (NER)

OK... so... I just created an invite (on FB) to the party I mentioned in a post below.  So far, only one person has said "Not Attending" Not a big deal.  She doesn't usually attend our parties if her DH isn't in town and I'm not sure if he will be.  ANYWAY.... THIS is her status right now, "Thank God we will be out of town for that. Even if we weren't we wouldn't go!!! Haha... don't you EVER disrespect me! Dumbass..." And now I'm wondering if I did something to piss her off... Obviously it doesn't have my name on it or anything, but... surely that's not a mere coincidence, right?  WWYD???

  • oh wow, i would really hope that she isn't dumb enough to post that and be talking about you.

i think i'd definitely have to ask her about that!     maybe send her a private message and say, um, i really hope you are not talking about me with that message!

  • I don't have her number.  I'm more of an acquaintance ofhers I guess... our husbands work together, so they have the friendship, not really us, but we have the same group of friends, so we're FB friends.  I asked DH if there was some issue I was unaware of and he said he doesn't think so, but he's going to ask her husband.  I don't want to comment on her status since I don't want to start (what might be) unnecessary drama... and... I just don't think it's cool to "fight" on the interwebz....

  • That is rude and totally unnecessary.  If she has a gripe she should tell you to your face.  Stupid facebook.

I agree. I wouldn't be able to let that go.

  • Confused  This is why I try to never put personal irritations on FB, unless their related to inanimate objects, my son's bedtime or Donald Trump.

  • Weird.  From the way you describe the relationship I would think it's a coincidence and she's talking about something else because it just doesn't make any sense.  Either way she sounds immature and not really like someone you'd want to be friends with anyway so if she is talking about you good riddance!

  • Yeah... If I'm irritated with a person, I just leave it off FB.  No one else needs to know, you know?  Even if she's NOT talking about me... she's definitely being rude about someone else!

DH asked me not to message her until he gets home (I think he fears I will be too dramatic and defensive, but I could be totally wrong).  I hate sitting on my hands though!  I WANT TO KNOW!!!  My head is just reeling with idea of what could have upset her... the only things I can come up with are that I don't think I said goodbye to her at the party they had a few weeks ago (There was an AWFUL storm in the area and DH wanted to stay at the party but I needed to get C home.  I know I thanked her for having us and feeding us though... long before we left.)  I think that party is the only time I've interacted with her at all in 2011.

I'm really hoping so... it's just a really BAD coincidence.  Literally less than 2 minutes difference in time between RSVPing with a "not attending" and posting that status.

  • oh wow... ya that is a little too close for comfort for me!

I would so just wanna email her and say "I know it might be a wierd coincidence, but..."  I mean honestly the fact that she even posted something like that on FB shows she has no couth.

  • Well, I'm one to not really care if a person doesn't like me or has a beef they aren't willing to confront me about. Really, it's obvious it is some sort of hard feelings she's setting towards someone. A burden you don't need to take upon yourself or give another moment of your time. She seems to have no impact on your life in any other way so does it really matter if she's got an issue?

I don't want it to impact DH's relationship with her husband either... but I guess men aren't like women that way.

Besides... I have fun friends that will go to the movies with me on week days!  Who needs her???  :-D
