i've seen a few people on the weekends with some signs around my town warning that day of judgement will be may 21, followed by 5 months of torture until the end...

what do you think?
what would you do if this was your last week?
Re: random ot... may 21 2011, day of judgement?
OMG...lets just go over how many times the world was supposed to end in the last 100+ years! (And thats just a start)
I choose not to pay attention to these whack jobs!
Well, I have a hair appointment on the 21st at 3:00. I hope he will be accomodating to my schedule.
Note: I am not a religious person.
They did a story about this on NPR. One of the families they interviewed the wife was pregnant and due in June. They had budgeted so that they would have nothing by May 21st. I can't imagine putting my family at risk like that. Personally I don't believe it. The "end of the world" or "the great tribulation" has been predicted and passed with no big event several times. Personally I'd like to hear the interviews with the same people on May 22nd after nothing happens. The same sort of thing happened with the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 & 1994.
I'm not sure what I would do if this was my last week. I'd be really disappointed that I didn't get to give birth and raise our little guy. I would probably take the week off and spend it with my husband. Personally I don't think I would want to know. I would prefer to just be here one moment then gone the next.
i see this all over the place - they are spending so much money to tel me the world is ending and it pisses me off, because LO is not due until after that date
edit: as a non-believer though, i guess i dont have to worry - because Dh and I would still be here after the 21st to meet our non-believing baby

Honestly, this reminds of when people were analyzing the text of Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince for hints about what were going to be the unknown horcruxes in the final book. But then, I don't believe that God would hide clues in the text of the Bible about when the end of the world was going to happen for funsies.
The picture of that woman with her car cracks me up! Have fun wasting your time, lady.
well i think technically we would get to give birth to our lo's since it's just judgement day...
the actual end of the world isn't until 10/11/11 according to this...
so all those that are still around and believe in this on 05/22/11 will just believe that they were not saved and taking the downtown train on 10/11/11
Yawn... it better not be...May 22 is my shower. lol

When you say this it makes me wonder if we will hear about a mass suicide sometime in the next week...like that group who thought the world was ending and killed themselves to get to the spaceship behing a meteor or something (I was young and don't remeber all the details).
the heaven's gates peeps...
yeah, that kind of worries me, if there's a lot of weirdos out there who might harm themselves or others
Agreed! Openly Christian here, and anyone claiming this as 'truth' needs to go back and reread the books of Mathew, Mark and Revelation. I couldn't even read the rest of the comments, I was getting a headache!
Those people need to pack up their stuff quietly and not effect the rest of the world. Boo.
I saw four trailers with this End of Days stuff drive through the city on Monday when I left to go to lunch! Crazies.
I'm also a Christian and I think its nonsense. I mean really, anytime there's a lot going on the world people predict that its the end of days. And frankly I'm not going to believe one old whackjob's "math" over what's in the Bible. Thanks but no thanks.
It will be interesting to see their response on May 22nd though!
I was just about to say this!

This.
Also, if what they teach is true, none of us would meet our babies, as they are considered innocent and not old enough to understand their actions or choices. They would be raptured as well, all the children would be.
Regardless, I think its a bunch of BS.

There have been billboards up around town about this for MONTHS, and people were handing out pamphlets outside of my office until security shooed them away.
You can even find pet-care services online for people who don't want to leave their pets on their own when they ascend. The companies place the pets with "heathens" who won't be taken up in the rapture.
