How to know if your OCD has gone too far... SMOCKET POCKET

Re: How to know if your OCD has gone too far... SMOCKET POCKET

  • My first thoughts on those - 1)That does not prevent my kid from feeding the puppies/throwing her food on the floor, and 2)they would be so annoying to wash, food gets stuck in the little folds of fabric.

They seem kind of like more of a pain than a convenience.

  • agreed - looks more of a mess!!  Before you can even get baby out of the highchair, you have to do a search and rescue mission for all the food that didn't go in their mouth!  Otherwise you've now got a clean baby and high chair - but your floor is covered in food!  (or maybe tomorrow's steal is a giant drop cloth for the floor?)

  • You should change the name of the post to the name of the product and see if we can get the rep to come and defend it again a la Baby Nap Cap Devil
  • I could *maybe* see using something like this for special occasions like if your kid is all dressed up and you're out to dinner or at Grandmas or something.  But otherwise, yeah, how do you get it off the kid without spilling everything on the ground?  And if your kid likes to eat straight off the tray, now you're putting all of their food on the fabric?  Which is very likely to get pulled off by a squirmy kid and dumped.  It just seems so silly.

But, someone needs to invent a high chair that is easy to clean.  Ours has so many crevices that are so gross.  I prefer the $20 Fisher Price booster now.

    Yes

And ya, I am very glad I didnt get a high chair. We have the space saver one, and even that the cover got gross and after a few washings looked awful. We ditched it a couple months ago and its way easier now. Just wipe down the plastic parts and stick the tray in the dishwasher. EasyPeasy. I wish I would have gotten rid of the cover a long time ago, I dont think she would have even cared!

We have a $20 Ikea highchair...best chair ever! So easy to clean, no crevices and the tray pops off easily.  Also, it is easy to take with us if we're going to someones house for dinner or something.  We actually got rid of our Chicco chair for the Ikea one.

    My clean kitchen solutions:

*A Tripp Trapp (although it was very messy the first few months because there?s no tray, it?s been awesome form 12mo on)

*A dog that will eat anything.  N doesn?t drop much but what is does is fine for Zoe to eat.

THIS! The consolation for dealing with a toddler is the dog gets his leftovers.

Oh, and every other night we eat in a diaper only and then straight to bath!

  • Well, they WOULD save me from having to put the highchair in the shower ever few days, but otherwise a PIA.

Just buy the cheap booster from Target and ditch the high chair.  Seriously.  You will be so much happier!

Done and done.  Only I just ordered it from Amazon, cuz I'm too lazy for a Target trip.  :)
