Cassie's birthday is next month, and I'm tempted to schedule her party to begin at 4:00 p.m. Does that sound too late? Keep in mind I live in Houston, we're having the party in our backyard, and it's HOT in June.

Doesn't sound too late to me. That's about when I was thinking to have Henry's 1st birthday party, starting at around 3:30-4:00. It's the biggest wakeful and happy window after the afternoon nap and before bed.
I think that's fine, especially given the time of year and the heat, etc. Cannot wait to see how it all comes together! Three already?! Where does the time go?

Yes, three already! I can hardly believe it. Makes me both happy and sad at the same time....

I don't think so. Is it going to be an outdoor party? Perhaps, in the invite you can say party starts at 3:30 pm? If your friends/family are like mine, they won't arrive until 4:00 pm .

LOL this is what I was thinking! My peeps generally show up 20-30 min late, so I'd probably put 3.30pm on the invite (but that's just me). At any rate, I think that time of day is fine.
LOL...I have to admit, I'm the one that is always late to family functions. Being punctual is not my strong point so I won't be offended if some arrive past 4

what time does Cassie nap, or does she not even nap at all now? i don't remember when kids drop napping altogether, although some can nap until they are much older. i don't think 4pm is too late at all but i'd be a late comer b/c Miss A usually naps from 2:30-4:30 (and sometimes 5:30 or 6pm) so when i read that i almost thought it was a bit "early" for us!
