Jodi- I don't get it! What does this have to do with Italians? I just didn't want to keep having to pay for sod every year when we were going through another drought.
I have to say that I love it. The landscaping is very tasteful. Where I live, it's all about desert landscaping and this is a great example.
Thank you!
What you cannot see is a very long row of 6+ foot high hedges going up the driveway from the street. This used to be my parents house and they planted them over 15 years ago. They are more maintenance than the rest of the front yard. Part of me really wants to pull them out.
I LOVE it - it really works with your house! Thanks so much for posting. Oh to never have to worry about lawn care again!
Thank you!
Yeah, we still need to pull weeds every once in a while, but not much. And we still need to mulch and prune the rest. We also have a huge backyard that still needs mowed. Our water bill went from $150-$200 to $30 a month. Crazy!
I would assume that was an old person yard, lol. Every old person in the desert (i.e. Palm Springs) has a rock yard. We'll eventually do a xeriscaped yard.

Just call me old! lol We have people drive in the cul-de-sac just to tell us it's beautiful and how they want it in their yard. Until they ask about how much something like that costs!
Re: *S_angel* Re: Pics of the rock
Are you Italian?! LOL
(Let the Nest flaming begin for being stereotypical!!)
There isn't a single lawn on Long Island -- it's just a joke. Italians have "rock yards!"
Thank you!
