Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

18t months: What does your baby drink from?

What kind of cup/ bottle do you use (i.e. sippy cup, straw cup)?  What brand? Right now we use the Tommee sippy cup but I'm thinking of changing her to the straw cups.  Not sure.  She knows how to drink from a straw and uses it to drink boxed apple juice.

  • we still use bottles for milk and may be the case until he's 18! i just don't know how you all get rid of the bottles.. really!

for water he uses a tilty cup. LOOOOVE!  it replicates an adult cup and it's hard top but it's the only thing my son will drink from. too bad he wont drink milk from it.

  • DD uses both straw & sippy cups, it's just a matter of which one I put my hand on first. We use Take N Toss, Playtex and Titly cups.

    This. Exactly.

  • Take n' Toss sippy cups. He can drink from a straw and other cups, too, but these work well for us and he has so many of them.

All by Tommee Tippee.  I love them because they do not leak, even the straw cups.

We have a few of the Take N' Toss sippy cups. DD never took a sippy, just a straw cup so we are trying to get her use to tipping her cup to drink. But we mainly use straw cups.

  • A sippy cup with the valve removed. He's been using that since 15 months.

He uses regular glasses on occasion. He knows how but needs practice on tipping the glass slowly so he doesn't douse himself in water. I try to let him practice with them once a day, but that doesn't always happen.

  • Ruby (17 months) still takes a bottle too Confused  She will also drink out of soft spout sippy cups, but really still prefers a bottle.
  • bottles for Milk ...sippy cup for water
  • LO will drink from most hard spout sippys 95% of the time, the only time he drinks from a soft spout (Nuk Learner Cup Spout) is at bed time... 100% off a "bottle" since 13 months... didn't fight giving it up, the Nuk Learner Cup is what made the transition so easy for him.

  • my guys use nuby sippies and straw cups for pretty much everything
  • We use Playtex Sippy cups (the "regular" kind and the kind with a straw) most of the time, but DD is pretty good with a regular cup and straw as well when she's in her high chair. We are slowly working on regular cups, too, but we've still got a long ways to go!

  • My son uses the born free toddler spouts on his glass bottles. :D

The pedi said those were ok.

  • DS has only ever drank from straw cups.

  • For both girls we have only ever used straw cups -- the Nuby no-spill flip-it cups.

  • DD has been using a regular cup since about 15 months.  That's only 'cause she stopped bottles as soon as I stopped pumping (around 13 months).  Then she took sippy cups of water only until her favorite sippy cup got lost.  So we just switched to giving her water from regular cups.

  • One of the first cups DS used was one with a straw. He figured it out pretty quickly. Now we use a First Years sippy cup (the ones with Cars on it) because I got tired of losing the straw insert in the Munchkin ones, they started leaking, and they didn't seem like the insides of the straws were getting all that clean even in the dishwasher. Oh we got the First Years brand because I let DS pick which sippy he wanted, lol.
