If you have a Shark steam mop

How do you clean the pads?  I used to just throw them in with the laundry but they weren't getting clean.  Right now I have the one soaking in the sink in hot, soapy water and am attempting to wash it by hand.  Is there an easier way to get them clean?

I wash them in the washer with my other whites & use ammonia & laundry detegent.  I also use warm water.  Mine always comes out pretty clean.

  • Hmmmm... I just throw mine in the wash.  They do look dingy but I think the actual dirt still comes off.
  • I throw them in the wash with other cleaning rags (I don't use paper towels anymore, so I have enough rags to get a decent sized load :). I wash on warm/cold setting and I've found that helps getting them whiter....they're still not as freshly white as new, but they look "cleaner" then when I was washing on cold.

  • Ditto PP I throw them in the wash with towels and wash on warm/cold.  I don't use bleach, just regular detergent and they come out clean.  Not super white/brand new looking but they are clean.
  • I spray them with dreft spot clean spray when they are still warm off the mop, then i let them sit until the next whites load when i was on cold with bleach and tide stain release.
