So I know that frequent urination can be expected in the third trimester. But, seriously I feel I pee a lot. I usually get up at least 2-3x/night and during the day it's at least every 2-3 hours. I do drink a lot of liquids, so maybe that is why...
I had my 32 week appointment on Monday and the doctor had me take a urine culture, which of course came back contaminated. I don't know how it can be contaminated since I followed all the directions correctly. So I went yesterday to retake the test. Hopefully this one won't be contaminated! I don't have any pain, burning or discomfort. I'm really hoping it's not a UTI or some kind of infection and just a regular pregnancy symptom.
Do you feel that you can pee all the time?
Re: Let's talk about peeing...
I seriously get up like 4-5 times during the night to pee. Early on, I would just "hold it" and try to fall back asleep but since I have contractions when my bladder is full, I have to get up now.
I probably go every 2ish hours during the day... even if I'm NOT drinking a lot of water. My LO is vertex and very low in my pelvis so he's putting a lot of pressure on my bladder.
It doesn't sound like a UTI to me but it's good that your Dr did a urine culture just in case!
I'd say I pee more often than you, so I don't think you are going too much. I do drink at least 120oz of water a day, so I'm sure that contributes to my frequent urination.
It's good that your doctor is being proactive and testing you for a UTI. If it comes back negative, then you know you just have to pee a lot now.
I go around 1x per hour during the day and the last few days have been getting up about once during the night.
It doesn't sound unusual to me, especially if you're staying well hydrated.
The worst is feeling like I have to go again, even if I just went 10 minutes ago. I'm trying all kinds of sitting straight up, leaning forward, etc before I get off the toilet to try and empty every corner!
During the day I'm going ~1x hour. I have a nice little hourly ritual at work where I get up to pee, refill my 16oz water cup, and do a lap around my floor to stretch my legs. And luckily only waking up 1x at night to go. It does feel execessive, but I don't want a UTI or any dehydration-related contractions, so if it means I feel like a fish, I'm ok with that! Plus the more water you drink, the less likely you swell (or so they say...)
This is me. I seriously peed three times in 30 minutes last night. I'd get back in bed, get all comfortable and then I'd have to get right back up.
I go once an hour at work during the day and after I'm in bed, it's 3-4 times.
I get up to pee at least 4-5 times in the middle of the night, but then again I usually got up twice before I was pregnant. During the day I would say every hour or so? Needless to say we've been going through A LOT of toilet paper!
Also, I have my first UTI, and also a problem with leaking urine throughout the day.
