Just curious. We probably will only have the one anatomy scan at 18-20 wks, by choice. Our private insurance doesn't cover prenatal care (does cover pg complications and of course everything with the baby once it's out, just not regular maternity stuff). So we're just going to pay for the 1 u/s, since they aren't considered medically necessary anyway.
Last time I had one at 18 weeks, and then one at about 36 weeks b/c of some bleeding issues.
I don't mind not having one now, but I can't WAIT until 10 wks so I can hear a heartbeat on Doppler & know there's really someone in there.
Anybody else not having an ultrasound early on?

BFP 4-19-11. Ezri Ana born on due date, Dec 30 2011!
My Ovulation Chart
Our first u/s will be the anatomy scan at 16-20 weeks. As far as I know, that will be the only one. My doctor said she doesn't do an early u/s or multiple u/s unless there are complications.
She will listen for the HB with the doppler at our next appointment at 13 weeks.
I am high risk, so I get one every month. But, with my first I only had one (until complications in the third tri)
I can't believe how many people get so many for seemingly no reason.
If the insurance pays for it, why not? It's not like it's harmful to have an ultrasound. I think all of us like that peace of mind of seeing the baby growing properly anyway.
BFP #2 - MC Aug 2012 - D&C w/ complications
We had one with DD - and was kind of expecting the same from this pregnancy as well. I was (pleasantly) surprised today when she mentioned doing one even before I told her that I have weird cycles.
I didn't ask at my appointment how things are done (it's the first time I've been to that dr) but when I go back in 4 weeks I'll ask more specific questions.
