Eco-Friendly Family

just need some support...

I posted earlier this week in the Green Beans, but I am just really nervous still...

When I went to my appointment on Monday they gave me a script to get another U/S. Apparently they couldn't see all four chambers of baby #2's heart. They want me to go back to get another u/s to ensure everything is ok.

My OB said it's of no worry to her because I'm not over 35, no history of family issues in infants, & no issue w/ my past pregnancy. But I am still very very nervous. I have felt different this entire pregnancy and since it took so long to get pregnant and it was planned (Addison was a happy surprise) I think I am much more on edge in general. And now to have this looming, it scares me....

I know I'm most likely overreacting and everything will be fine, but I just need to get it out and I cannot help what I am feeling. I feel SO stressed b/w work and SIL's shower this weekend and money issues and just everything compounding on top of one another and now this is just pushing me over the edge.

I go Tuesday morning for the ultrasound and seriously it just feels like forever away. :(

I don't know what I'm looking for posting here, but just thanks for listening!

  • From what I understand, that's pretty common.  The same thing happened to me with S and I have several friends who have had to have a second "big" u/s because they couldn't get all the shots they needed the first time.

(((Hugs))) and try not to stress!  I know, easier said than done, but I'll say a prayer that everything turns out just fine!

  • {{hugs}} honey.  I would be worried too but as the other ladies and your doctor have said there is every chance in the world that things are just fine.  I know what you mean about things piling up - I'm feeling the same right now and just keep wondering when my break will come.  I'll hope for a break for you real soon too.

  • ((hugs)) I remember my u/s with DS. I was there for 2 hours while they tried to get shots of his heart and he is totally healthy. Hopefully your LO is just stubborn, too.  Hang in there!

  • Thank you so much, ladies! It seriously means the world to me to have you all! <3 I don't have many IRL friends locally and I don't really want to talk about this with family right now and get them upset over nothing ya know?

Lotte-I hope you get a break soon, too, mama! ((hugs))

Dobie-Another girl I work with said the same thing happened w/ her daughter... so I keep trying to remind myself of that! It's nice to see others who the same thing happened to, so I feel a little more "ok" that it's normal. Thank you!

The time between that phone call and the next ultrasound is the longest in the world. Sending lots of calm reassuring thoughts and prayers to you!

  • The same thing happened with my son and the second u/s was fine. He is perfect. Thinking of you.

  • My OB won't even do the "big" ultrasound until AT LEAST 22 weeks because of this.  They said doing it sooner causes too much unnecessary worry because they can't get good pictures and everything isn't always perfectly visible.  So ::Hugs:: and relax :)  Best of luck to you at your next ultrasound.
