Hi,
I just relocated to the DC area as a result of a job my husband accepted. This move happened rather suddenly, and when I started researching daycares, I found out there were significant waitlists. I am hoping to get a job soon, and was wondering if there are any suggestions on child care that don't invovle extensive waitlists. Are in-home care places more available? Or, do I just need to wait until I find daycare to really look for a job? I am currently in Vienna, and actively looking for employment in the Northern Virginia area (too scared of DC to try to brave that traffic!!)
Thanks in advance!
Re: New to DC - Day Care Question
Welcome to the area!
Just to reiterate the other posts--in home daycares are a good option when you need to find something in a relatively short time frame. When I decided to go back to work when DD#1 was 10 months old, I found one in 2-3 weeks.
GL!
P.S.--Don't discount looking in DC for jobs--you can always take the metro in and avoid the drive...I know that's not for everyone, but it can work (and does for me:)
