when would you call the doctor?

I had an u/s Tuesday afternoon because I had some spotting and mild cramping.  The u/s tech said I would hear back from a doctor.  I haven't heard anything yet.  Should I give them today, or should I call this morning and just check and see what the time frame is for hearing back from a doctor (to sort of remind them to call me)? 

I'm still spotting, though it's still just brown and it's a bit lighter.  The cramps haven't been happening much at all the past day and a half.  But I'd feel a lot better if I could actually talk to a doctor.

I did take today off so I could keep my feet up and take it easy.

    Um, congrats on your patience / mental character.  I would have been calling like a psycho starting on Weds AM if I had gone in for bleeding and hadn't heard anything.  You are obviously a lovely, sweet, calm pregnant woman whereas I am a raging maniac.  :)

    I agree - give them a call.  I had an u/s yesterday because of some cramping, and my MD called me within an hour.  They know pregnant ladies are nervous :)

    If I were you, I would call the dr and get your results.  48 hours is much longer than I would personally wait for confirmation that everything is okay.  You are your best advocate.  That is what they are there for.  Let us know how everything goes.

    Thanks ladies! My doc is out of the country (I go to church with her and she's on a missions trip. She'll be back this weekend.) so I tried to give them a little leeway. I called and spoke to my doc's nurse. She said the docs didn't see anything of concern on the ultrasound, but for me to call if the spotting changes in color or flow. She also scheduled me for another ultrasound in 2 weeks (she said she'ddo next week but that it might still be too early to hear/see the heartbeat well). So I have an u/s scheduled for Wed 5/25 instead of having to wait for my 8 week appt on 6/2. In the meantime, I hope the spotting stops! It makes me so nervous!
