flat spot ??

OK my son has a flat spot on the back left side of his head.  We are going to physical therapy b/c he favored his left side & we got that fixed but the dr. told me he is still concerned about the flat spot & to keep him off the left side of his head.  I read a thing that said to put towel (something like that) to prop him off his left side, but if I do that he sleeps on the right side of his head & now Im worried that side might get flat.  I ordered a noggin nest & hopes that helps in his bouncer, swing & stroller etc...any suggestions would be great!!

    Has he started sitting up yet? My son had the helmet for a few months to help straighten it out with the help of PT because of tort.

    All in all though, once you baby is sitting up, in the jumper more, with increased tummy time, and bumbo he will more than likely fix it on his own.  Good luck!

    I'm not sure about on the side, but my son had a MAJOR flat spot in the back. The dr said he might need a helmet, but wanted to wait until he starting sitting up. At the end of 4 months, he starting sitting up and by 6 months the flat spot was gone.

    GREAT!!!  He is trying to sit up by himself but can't do it all the way yet but he sits in his bumbo & we do tummy time.  i don't give him long & he will be sitting up all by himself.  I really hope that it gets better.  Ive been soo worried since Tuesday when the dr said he might need a helmet if its not better by 6 months.

    Sometimes they just need a growth spurt to help it go away.  I think at the age that your LO is less likely to get a flat spot if you have him on his right side.  They just don't spend as much time flat as they used to.  I am sure that with lots of tummy time and sleeping towards the right that your LO will grow out of it.  GL!
