So my DH decided we needed to rip out a huge section of our landscaped backyard on Sunday. We spent about 7 hours working in the yard. I am still sore and sunburned and in the process he cut our cable line with the tiller so no tv or internet for two days.
He did go to the grocery and cooked steaks and corn on the cob and brought me a bottle of sparkling wine (which I drank all of by myself, I have no shame) We sat outside on the patio and ate and watched DS push his Wheely Bug around at breakneck speed and then went to bed.
My friends are posting pics of their day with their families and they got to shower and dress nice. Some went to brunch or went to the park for a picnic and were able to relax. My neighbors spent the whole day in the yard relaxing and playing with their kids.
My DS spent most of the day in his pack n play on the patio playing by himself.
I am so jealous and sad.

We went out to our favorite pizza place last year for lunch and there was no one there. We ate outside and then walked around the area and shopped. It was wonderful and DS was just a month old. I was excited to be able to button my pre preg jeans and then on the way home had to unbutton them from pizza a FroYo overdose.
He asked what I wanted and I told him the same stamped necklace I wanted last year (I got tennis shoes that are supposed to lift my a$$) He told me to order it.
As I posted in another thread here, Men are stupid when it comes to stuff like this.
At least he did dinner, which is more than I can say. Of course, we went to Red Lobster Saturday night so he thinks that counts. But we had gone to church so supper would've been late if we waited to get home to eat. We had gift cards to use and I ended up paying the rest of the tab on my credit card. When I pointed that out, he said, "Well, I actually pay for your credit card, so really... I paid for it!" ARGH.

Honestly, your Mother's Day doesn't look that bad to me.
1. Your H seems to be very handy since he does yard work.
2. I don't like going out on Mother's Day here in NJ anyway b/c all restaurants are overpacked hence the service is horrible.
I'm sorry. Lesson learned though. Next year you tell your DH exactly how you want to spend your MD. No working in the yard or any such thing. I told my DH I wanted a nice brunch out and he arranged it. And even better, someone owed him a favor and it was a great, gourmet, FREE meal at a nice restaurant. So I lucked out.
But last year's was sucky, so I feel your pain.
