s/o milk... dairy farm ?

how do you find these local places that sell to the public? 

i live out in the middle of no where, and there are 2 farms i know of, 1 i just looked up and they don't do dairy, but the other one might... i'll have to call or email them and see..... but it's about a 20-30 min drive each way.  

other than just googling dairy farm; town, state... is there a trick to finding these places?

    This place is actually fairly large that I'm talking about. They sell in some retail locations here and they do ice cream as well. Their farm actually has a mini golf/batting range/ice cream parlor...

    other than word of mouth, farmer's markets, fairs geared toward EF stuff?  Some post on CL.

    I just googled dairy + town name. There are at least 2, possibly 3 dairies near me that sell directly to the public. I know 2 of the 3 deliver. I have a standing milk delivery order. The milk man delivers every Tuesday and Friday. He leaves my nice fresh milk in a cooler on my porch. When I finish a bottle I rinse it out and stick it back in the cooler for him to collect when he delivers the fresh stuff. The bottles are glass so they're all reused. It's really convenient.

    I originally heard about it by word of mouth. You could also check into CSAs. I know some sell fresh milk. That might be another option.

    Just FYI, it's illegal to sell raw milk in some states, so the milk has to be called "pet milk", meaning it's supposedly not going to be consumed by people. Of course everyone knows that's not what it will be used for, but don't be surprised if you see that verbiage.

    can't even legaly sell it as pet milk here can old sell shares of the cow... I have my own cow but not milking her now should sell a "share" to someone
