Babies: 3 - 6 Months

If you have a LO that's cut teeth...

were they a GIANT biotch for several days prior?  I'm convinced that's what's happening with my LO.  I was thinking growth spurt, but this has been going on for almost a week now.  Her prior growth spurts were usually one nasty day followed by a day of a lot of sleep.  She's been discontent a good portion of each day, and she's been feverishly sucking and biting her hands/fingers/drooling like a fool.

  • oh lordy has ds been a pita! I am somewhat thankful dh lost his job and if home with me this pass week he has been to much! He was up every 2 hours last night and by 830 I had enough I woke Dh to take care of him. I still dont know how we did it that first 2 months of getting up like that...he has been drooling like he has rabies and is sticking anything he can into his mouth. He has a little white spot near the bottom front but it smooth so I dunno if it's a tooth already, or if it a thrush patch. He had thrush once so I am paranoid now.

  • I keep expecting to see a tooth appear with T, but none yet. He's been just like you describe for the past week with out of control drooling, frantic fist chewing/sucking, not napping and being pretty cranky. He's also started to fuss and scream when we try and give him his evening bottle (he only gets one bottle a day) and I was wondering if the sucking on the bottle hurts his gums? I'm just hoping if it is teething that the tooth comes through soon!

  • Oh yeah!  DD was drooling like crazy and EVERYTHING went in her mouth to suck on.  She also would get the bottle nipple and turn her head side to side to rub it on her gums.  She hardly slept and was pretty fussy when I tried to put her down for sleep.  She has now cut her two bottom teeth (same time as me as a baby) and it HAS gotten better, but every now and then it just takes sucking on a nipple to bring it right back!  But I have to admit, a lot of what yoru saying does sound like a growth spurt too- so who knows!  GL!

  • Haha!  yes, DD has been a royal pain since the 4 month mark.  At 4.5 months, her first tooth came in and her second one came in over the weekend.  Also, she's not sleeping well at night anymore which makes me a beeyotch too!
