I am a billion times better at thinking stuff, then putting it on paper, haha.

Here goes:

Right, but it is also, for me, is about current time and what is coming if we all keep just sitting down and taking it.

Don't other people out there think that the government controls the media, perhaps not as bad as in the movie and in History, but they still only tell us what they want us to know.

They for sure tell us what to do, i.e TSA and those body scans, and we all get in line to go into those machines too, just like sheep.

You've got some extreme thinking. Yes the media filters things out to us. But there are ways around it. Rules and regulations need to be balanced out. You can't live in a world that has zero rules but a world with too many rules isn't good either. America is not as filtered as other countries. There are countries that have filtered internet and aren't allowed to read whatever books and magazines they want. There is a country that doesn't allow women to go out without a male escort. I encourage you to do some research and then think about how your life is.

Hmmm, I thought it was a modern retelling of the Gunpowder Plot, so Britain under James I. I think 1984 would be a better comparison to the TSA, but OP seems too happy to be the dystopian literature type.

I don't think the government controls the media. I think a group of annoying (probably fat) white guys (with an interest in media profits) sit around deciding what headlines make the most money and gear everything towards that.

Scare tactic media is the coolest.

I didn't say I had an idea about how much or to what end. I do 100% believe that they sensationalize stories they want us to be afraid about, i.e the world is ending in 2012, earthquakes, disasters. Almost like they want us to remain in fear to a degree, and shiiit yea it works too. I was in fear, not so much now but still some fear.

Vendetta was made and put out there because if they stopped it, then what would we say, so of course they let stuff like that get published and made.

I think we have it good in the USA. I don't doubt that, but I think the government is too damn knee deep in my personal business. From tracking devices (cell phones, car, ipad, laptop) which they can watch pretty much anytime they want under the patriot act to what the media should embellish.

Did you know if you put more than 5k into your bank account the bank is FORCED to report it to the IRS? Who is the IRS, they are the guys that want your money to fund wars, pay for trips, pay for their strippers/hoes, etc.

There are all kinds of little things the government can do to watch us and quite frankly just because terrorists do bad things, it doesn't mean I gave up my right to privacy, i.e those damn airport full body scanners.

You might think I am nuts, but you know what I won't be laying down and taking this ass raping like everyone else. All it takes is one seed of doubt in someones mind and then they start thinking....

That day is coming ladies...maybe there will be a mass period week every month and we will all have to have our period together, so the men don't have to deal with us being ****y at one time.

They totally are doing scare tactics. I end up watching the news about some bullshi*t for hours, then nothing happens.

Remember when we went from 1999 to 2000, hahahah. I drove public transit and they gave me a bus with no computer on it, because you know they were all going to self destruct. We were scared, hahaha, that didn't happen.

But the computers are getting smart, too smart, soon they will take over.

ok... so if the government is pushing stories in the media about 2012 to make us fearful, why hasn't there been any federal noise about it? why not flat out say "2012 is going to be rough, but we'll roll up our sleeves and get through it and btw give us all your money and your firstborn etc..."

i mean, that would scare me. i think 2012 stuff is ridiculous, but if noaa or nasa suddenly started to back it it might give me pause. why not really use their resources instead of doing this the most complicated and least effective way possible?

i mean, if that's what we're talking about, that was a state legislature. that's just indiana and it's because the house there is republican controlled. and this is why i'm trying so hard to figure you out... that could spread to other states, but "the government", at least the federal government didn't have *** to do with it. and if this is a big deal to you, would you rather just sit and be convinced we're powerless to stop it, or would you rather actually work to prevent it? i don't want my son growing up in some puritanical country where abstinence is all that's discussed in schools and hospitals.
