Today at the park a little girl cam up to sawyer and I and asked if his name was "ear boy".

I said, umm no, it's sawyer.

She said, "well, it should be ear boy" and then skipped away.

::sigh:: whatyagonnado? Sad

How old was she??? Sometimes I think it's so hard to teach those concepts (if she was too young to know/understand that what she said would hurt feelings)

The little girl I nanny for, when I was pregnant with DS pointed to a heavy woman at the library and loudly asked "Is she having a baby or is she fat?" It was SO innocent... the woman was clearly overweight... but it's so hard to teach her that while it is true the woman is overweight.. it hurts her feelings to point that out. Kwim?

I'm sorry either way. Glad Sawyer is too young to understand..

Oh kids. Sometimes they can be so mean. I had a little girl come up to me a few years ago when I was a single mom and she said, "My mom has a boyfriend. He has guns. You'll never have a boyfriend or get married because you have a GIRL." WTF? I had never wanted to punch a kid before that...
