Is anyone giving up dairy?

I'm starting today and while I want a happy baby, I will really miss it. What are you eating? I'm going to scour Trader Joes for soy products today...

Re: Is anyone giving up dairy?

  • Are you giving up dairy for a reason? Does your baby have an intolerance?  I would be careful with the soy, that is one of the top contenders for allergies.  I eat whatever I want and we have never had any problems but I know not everyone is that lucky.

  • I gave up dairy and soy for 6 months. Be careful with soy -- I've read that 1/3 of babies with dairy sensitivities are also sensitive to soy.

  • I've given up dairy for over a month now. I restricted soy, too, but I recently ate some soy cheese and LO didn't have any reaction. Rice milk is my savior. DH made us scalloped ham and potatoes with rice milk and earth's balance margarine and it tasted like it was made with cream. I also just tried coconut milk ice cream and it is delicious.

  • I normally lurk here, but I have to get rid of dairy, gluten and wheat for two weeks. It was really scary to hear that because my diet consists of so much dairy! Luckily I found that, like pp said,  rice milk is amazing! I actually prefer it to soy milk.
