Baby Names

Thoughts on these two names...

DH and I just found out yesterday we are having a baby girl Smile. For her name we are debating on Elizabeth Rose or Evelyn Rose. So far I think we are leaning towards Evelyn.

  • They're both very pretty names.  I think I'd lean toward Elizabeth, because it seems like Evelyn is skyrocketing in popularity.  Obviously Elizabeth is also popular, but it has a more classic feel.

  • You can't go on with either, they're both winners.

I think I like Evelyn a little more.

  • Evelyn has never been my cup of tea, but there's nothing wrong with it. I prefer Elizabeth because of its complete timelessness and the wide variety of (adorable) nns associated with it.

This and there are endless nns for Elizabeth.  Liz, Lizzy, Beth, Betsy, Liza, Eliza, Bessie, Elsie, Lizbeth....I'm sure there are others.  I am biased though as Elizabeth is my name and my DD's mn.   I go by Liz but actually wish I went by Elizabeth...it really is a pretty name.

But Evelyn is really cute too...love the nn Evie!

Both are nice names, but i'm not a huge fan of older names, so I prefer Elizabeth to Evelyn.

  • Evelyn. Hands down.It wins every time.

I wish I could use since its so beautiful it but a cousin already did. Plus it is way less over-used and stands out in a good way. :)

Evelyn just seems so old lady-ish to me. I definitely prefer Elizabeth Rose (this was my great grandma's name, so I could be partial!)
