More on the dentist

I just had to share this, since it was timely and cute.

Ellie's first dentist appointment is next week. Today she got a letter in the mail from her dentist. It told her all the cool stuff she's going to get to see at the office, walked her through a little of what they are going to do and said she gets stickers when she's all done. Ellie kept gasping as I read it to her like she couldn't believe how fun it sounded, and then talked nonstop about how she was "so excited" get to go to Dr. Marie's office and how Dr. Marie is going to count her teeth, etc.

I am sure that's still no guarantee that my child, who hates to go to the doctor and gags when we brush her teeth, is really going to enjoy the dentist, but I still think it's really cute that they do that. And it really made me happy with my decision to take her to a pediatric dentist instead of my dentist, who is also a family friend. I'm feeling a lot better about taking her now too.
