Can you take milk through security? Not breastmilk, regular milk. We use Organic Valley and while we're open to other organic milk, I don't believe the airport offers either up. I can buy milk once I get to my destination but needs some for the evening time/dinner (flight leaves at 6:30). I have taken breast milk and formula, but never attempted milk. I was planning to take an individual milk box that doesn't require refrigeration so it would be closed.
Re: Traveling: Milk in carry-on
I put two sippies full of regular milk in a cooler bag in my carry on. I took it out for security the way you would w BM and told them it was BM. You may have an issue with a milk box though. No issues getting it through. DD did down one cup early on so I refilled it at the airport Starbucks condiment counter w their full milk. I figured one cup of non-organic wouldn't kill her and I'd rather have it as a back up on the plane than go without.
Edit: On the return trup I found out that the New Orleans airport terminal does NOT have a Starbucks anywhere and there was nowhere to buy milk once thru security so I was glad I was prepared.
I flew across country 3 weeks ago and we took two bottles of cows milk in a cooler bag plus a sippy of water. We had no problem taking them on the plane. They did do some sort of outside scan on the bottles, never unscrewed the caps and never asked any questions about them.
Where we did run into an issue was a bottle of Purell hand sanitizer that I forgot to take out of her diaper bag. It was over the allowed amount and we had to toss it.
This is perfect. Thanks! (We use 2% anyways per our pedi.)
