So I told some of you how crazy this stupid boxtop competition is at my elementary school. The same teacher wins every year, she puts it in her Christmas letter, she convinces all the fine arts teachers to give her their boxtops, but she seriously pushed me past what I can take.
My students have worked so hard all year to try and win the boxtop contest, they have written letters to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. The contest has always ended at the end of April, until this year. So the end of April comes and we end up being 700 boxtops ahead of her (WAHOO!). Then we get an email that says they have extended the contest this year to May 16th.
I was beyond irritated because I had to explain to the kids that we were doing it differently this year. I come to find out at the PTO meeting that she called the boxtop coordinator and explained that she had more on the way and asked if the contest could be extended.
GGRRRRR.....the mama bear in me is so ready to give her a piece of my mind!

A pizza party, which if we don't win I will be buying my class pizza because they totally deserve it.
They've collected 4,100 boxtops or $410 for the school.
That's kind of disgusting.
I get that boxtops are a good thing but she can still turn them in after the contest is over.

I clip ours all the time for my little bro's school. Since he's moving on to HS, I will have plenty to send (a few now & more throughout the year.). I can also recruit my mom & grandmother.
Do you also collect Campbell Soup labels?
His school did that too....
