Trying to Get Pregnant

HELP Am I having ovulation cramps or implantation Cramps??

Me and my fiance are trying to conveive so I am really new at all of this. I calculated my ovulation and the dates were the 4th-9th and the 7th being the highest day for chances of becoming pregnant. We made sure that we did the deed all of the days just to be sure. I even checked my cervical mucus & the 7th it was very clear like & slippery. Today I am having mild cramps and my cervical mucus it white and crumbly so I am confused. Is what Im experiencing ovulation cramps and Im a few days off on my calculation or whats going on???? HELP!!!!

  • Click on my heart ticker and sign up for FF. Charting/Temping is the ONLY way to know for sure that you've ovulated. Also, read Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

  • The only way to be sure of when you ovulate is to chart. You can sign up for Fertility Friend by clicking my ticker. It's a great tool when TTC. Also, you should read the newbie link at the top right corner of the main page.

  • How did you "calculate" when you ovulated? Because if you just counted the days on the calendar, that's not at all accurate.

  • If you did in fact O on the 7th, it's probably too early for implantation. My guess is that you're having I-had-a-burrito-for-lunch cramps.

I suggest reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and the newbie link at the top of the board. I also recommend charting with www.fertilityfriend.com

How did you calculate?  OPKs?  There is only one way to know for sure that you have ovulated and that is charting your temperatures.  Do you temp/chart?  If not, I suggest that you do.  Fertility Friend is great, simple, and free.  You can get there by clicking anyone's ticker.  Mine is green in my signature block.

Since TTC, I have been more aware of my body and I have been crampy every day this cycle.  So your cramps could be any number of things.

I suggest a few good reads... newbie link in the top right corner of the green header of the TTGP board and Taking Charge Of Your Fertility.

  • How did you calculate that you were ovulating? Are you charting? If not I would recommend it. You can start by clicking on my ticker. Temping if basically the only way to tell if you O'd for sure. If you are using one of the online ouvlation calculators they could be WAY off. I was doing that the first couple of months that I didn't know better and they were about a week of for me. Not helpful at all.

  • Hello! By calculations do you mean an ovulation calendar? If so, those are crap. Charting is the only way you will know when/if you ovulated. You can chart your basal body temp on fertility friend by signing up through any of our siggys. But first, read the newbie link and should you choose to chart through FF, I recommend taking the tutorials. Good luck!

Totally off topic but I almost spit apple sauce across my desk after reading that.  Love it.  And now I want a burrito.

Yeah, those really don't do anything for us as women.  Each of us is different, so to have a generalized calculator is useless.  Along with the other ladies in this thread, I really do suggest you temp and chart.  It will help you a lot when it comes to learning your body and timing sex.

If you lurk on the board and read posts, you will see lots of questions come up that you may have.  You can get your answers that way too.  You can also get a feel of the board and the personalities on it.

I really do wish you luck!

It's helpful if you quote people so we can see who you're responding to. It looks like you just told us 5 times that you're using an ovulation calendar. Most of us follow thread and read responses, so we'd remember that you responded to someone one time how you're "tracking" ovulation. You don't have to answer each and every one :)

  • haha okay!! Good cuz that was alot to try to keep up with! But thank you ladies for the help! Hopefully Im just feelin crampy and I didnt missed it! Question though, if my cervical mucus is back to being thicker & crumbly wouldnt that also indicate that ive already ovulated or no?

    It could mean several things:

    1) you ovulated

    2) you didn't ovulate.  What you experienced was your body preparing to ovulate, but then it didn't (that's why everyone is suggesting you track your basal body temperature, since it's the only way you know if you ovulated)

    3) your body's just messing with you.  Despite a clear temp shift earlier this cycle, all of a sudden yesterday and today I have had watery CM in the morning. It's kind of confusing, but sometimes your hormones are responding to something else besides ovulation.  Sometimes you might ovulate without any CM because of medicine you've taken or something like that.  I have no idea why I got the watery CM, but by temping I'm fairly confident that I did O sometime earlier this cycle.
