He did great! He wasn't scared at all. He hopped right up in the chair (before they even told him to), and the hygenist explained what all the instruments were and let him try them out. He thought they were very cool. He did great for the cleaning. They gave him this big set of teeth to practice brushing on, which he loved. Then the dentist came in to count his teeth and check them out. He said they looked perfect--no cavities or anything.
He went on to say that his mouth was on the small side, and I told him both Kyle and I had major crowding issues with our teeth and we both had braces. Kyle's jaw was too small (had to have surgery), and I had to have 4 permanent teeth pulled before my braces. He said Logan definitely has my mouth shape (first time either of us have ever been told we have a small mouth--ha!!), and braces will be a "when, not if", and he will probably have an extraction prior as well. We figured Logan would have to have braces, so I'm not surprised. Luckily, this is awhile down the road.
Then Logan got to go pick his prizes. The entire office staff kept remarking how good he was, and the receptionist even had us go talk to another little boy who was already in tears in the waiting room. So, if anyone is looking for an east side pediatric dentist, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Creath. I was a patient myself for 12 years (which the staff thought was so cool). He is located in Milford.
Thanks for letting me share!
Re: Update on taking DS to the dentist
Go Logan! I'm happy it went well for him!
Nora went to her first appointment a few weeks ago and I thought she would be terrified. Nope, she walked out with a huge smile on her face!
That's awesome! Go Logan!
We haven't yet decided where we are going to take J; but I'd like to get him in sometime soon.
ditto this.
