XP: STTN and supply

Hey, DS just started sleeping about 6-7 hours at night.  Before we were going about 4-5.  So I'm worried about my supply?  How much will this affect it?  Should I be waking up to pump or feed him?  I'm guessing many women have babies that STTN and BF, so I'm guessing there won't be any issues, but I wanted to check.  Thanks!

FYI, he sleeps in his cradle until he first wakes up, then we bed share.  But if we bed share from the start would be wake up to eat more?  We just moved him into the cradle and thats when he started going the extra hour.  I might bring him back into bed with me, and see if he wakes up more often to eat.

Come on Sticky baby!!

Re: XP: STTN and supply

  • It won't effect your supply.  My lil one slept through the night (10+ hrs) from 8 weeks to 16 weeks, then was up every hour, then slept most the night, then wouldn't sleep at all, and the cycle continues.  My supply has always kept up with him despite if we nursed at night or not.

Enjoy the extra sleep now, you might not get it later!
