DS had a bunch of explosive poop incidents this past week. I ran a load of his laundry and the stains didn't come out. I just used normal detergent and didn't pre-treat the clothes. Any advice?

The dreft spray to pre-treat is supposed to be great - I haven't used it yet but my friends swear by it.
I use this and have been able to save all of DD's clothes! You can either give that a try or some oxyclean, I hear that works great for a lot of people.
I spray Shout on stains on DDs clothes before I wash them. They almost always come out the first time. It takes a second wash for the bad ones to come out.

This! Someone gave us the dreft spray at a baby shower. I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise and it has worked great... Confession: I found a onesie that hadn't been rinsed that sat for over a week (ok, closer to two weeks) and the stain still came out.
A cousin gave me oxyclean at my shower with a note on top that said "Miracle Poop and Puke Remover"! It is great! Put the clothes in a bucket with water and a scoop of oxyclean and let it sit for a day(or more if you are not doing laundry the next day!:)) and you will not have a stain!
I'm glad you posted this...DS just blewout all over his brand new Janie and Jack summer outfit today...boo! I am going to have to try the Dreft stick, and sun tomorrow!
If it's bad or a large stain I'll soak it first, but usually I just throw it in the laundry with a scoop of Oxy Clean. It always comes out. In fact, I've gotten in the habit of putting a scoop of Oxy Clean in every wash.
