WW check/weigh in!

Fess up ladies!  How'd you do this week?  How much did you lose, if you care to share?  What are your plans for this week as far as food, cooking, etc?

I did not so great this past week.  I blame Mothers Day.  I get chocolate on special occasions as a gift and I have no self control.  I was also treated to a fabulous brunch at which I ate my weight in breakfast food with no regards for points.

I managed to somehow lose 0.2 lb this week (after peeing, before eating/drinking, stark naked).  So on week 2 I'm down a total of 2.4 lb.

This week I'm going to keep tracking and try to exercise at least twice.  I don't have a lot of time with working but maybe I can squeeze in an afternoon walk after I sign off.  I have a wedding shower this weekend so I'm going to save points for cake.  Then we have our weekly tv night on Sunday so I'll save points for take out.

Re: WW check/weigh in!

  • I stuck to my points this week, but splurged on Saturday and used up all my leftover weekly points (Sunday is my reset day).  I ended up eating over 70 points that day!  I also upped my points because my milk supply was taking a hit :(

So I didn't lose any more weight this week and actually gained a pound or so back after I adjusted my points for the BFing.  But I have still lost just over 4 pounds in 2 weeks, so I am happy.  And my milk seems to be doing better.

I am going to be very well-behaved all week and use all my points on Saturday again this week - we are going out for a nice dinner with friends so I will be having drinks and lots of food.

It's hard to balance weight loss with maintaining milk supply.  I really wish I didn't listen to everyone who told me the weight would fly off with breastfeeding.  Not that I actually believed it but still.  So not the case.

I just officially started on  Monday. So far I am pretty amazed/disgusted at the amount of food I was eating per day. DH is out of town this week so going to the gym hasn't been possible. We have a wedding this weekend which is sure to be a shiit show so I'm not sure how good I'll do overall this week. I have a lot of excuses, eh?

It's crazy right?!  I went on WW a year before I got pregnant and was at my wits end trying to lose weight.  I actually started tracking and paying attention and was like well no sh!t loser, you eat enough for 3 people!  I was really surprised

Save up all your points for the wedding then go nuts!  If you eat a light dinner and use your points on booze you'll get drunk much faster Wink

My first ww check in! Exciting!

I've only officially been doing it since thursday (so a week tomorrow) but so far I've lost 6 lbs! I do NOT expect to lose this quickly every week but it's definitely a good motivator at the start.

This Saturday I'm going out for my 30th with my friends to a bar to drink etc. I imagine that will be ridiculous and I don't think I'll be able to track what I ingest. But I'll try and be good the rest of the week to make up for it!

Beccs!  That's fantastic!  Huge motivator!  Congrats!  I hope to be to 6 pounds within two weeks haha.  Alcohol is in the tracker.  I was a huge lush before I got pregnant and I used to eat like 10 pounds a day and use the rest on vodka.

and FTR I don't think your birthday should count.  Take the day off and enjoy!

  • I gained back four pounds. Angry I missed half a workout last week and a whole one the week before and I guess this is what happens. Grrrrr.

I signed up for the free week trial last Thursday and I'm liking it so far.

I do have a question for you ladies though. I only have a few lbs left to lose, but what I'd hope to get out of WW is help learning to cook/eat healthier, motivation to be more active, and help maintaining my weight in a healthy way. I've done some unhealthy things to lose weight before and I don't want to go through that again. I also want a program that DH and I can do together so I can help support him in his weight loss goals. He wants to lose 25 lbs. Do you think, based on my goals, that WW would be a good program for me?

Thanks ladies!! I'm considering not tracking my night out but I'm going to have like 5 different "birthday" events (night out, lunch at my parents, dinner out with H on my actual bday, and then a weekend in NyC). So I'll track my other bday events but not the one where i'll be hammered. (1 handed typing on iPod. Kill me.)

  • I don't weigh in till Sunday, I refused to weigh in last week because I know I didn't stick to my points but I'm back on track this week and feeling good!

  • I'm a big ol' fat loser, and not in a good way. I gained a pound. =( I also would like to blame it on Mother's Day though. We had a potluck at work that day, and I lost any self control I may have had.

But this starts a new week! I am going to save all my points for Saturday because DH's work is having their company picinic at Knott's Berry Farm, and they have funnel cake. lol

So I guess so far out of my 50 pounds to lose I am down 3lbs, but up 1 from last week. Hoping for a 3lb loss this week.

  • Oh and congrats to the ladies who lost this week! Thanks for giving me some motivation. =)

  • Somehow I managed to lose 2.8 pounds this week, despite being more than 20 points over for the week! Woohoo!

I suspect some of that (maybe all?) is because I had my period, so I usually lose a pound or two. I exceeded my daily point total by 22 points the first day I tracked. And it wasn't until this weekend, when I was seriously craving something sweet while lacking points, that it even occurred to me to exercise. I ended up taking the dog on a serious walk -- even he was tired.

At first, it freaked me out that I was eating so much more than I should be. Now, I'm just thrilled that I know how much I was overeating and I can get it under control. And that I have motivation to work out -- even if it is, "I want cheesecake and I need to earn X additional points this week to have it."

Yes, I do think it would be helpful. I definitely found myself changing to a healthier diet and starting to exercise just by trying to stick to the program. 29 points worth of junk food just won't fill you up and give you energy to get through the day, so you have to eat smart. And then when you want to add in a little junk, you end up working out to get the extra points. At least, that's my experience.

And the ladies here are really good about suggesting healthy recipes, in addition to the recipes you can get on the website.

  • HI!  I wanted to know if I could join in the WW fun?  I mostly lurk and comment here and there.  I just restarted WW on Monday, and do it online.  I'm still EBF, so I am a little concerned with starting and having it affect my supply, but so far, so good.

I gained about 30 lbs during pregnancy and I would say that I could have lost 15-20 lbs prior to getting pregnant.  My I am down to just about 5 lbs above pre-preg weight, and my final goal is to lose 30 lbs from where I am now.

I did really great on Monday following points and getting used to the new program.  I did this a couple years ago before my sister's and my wedding, and really enjoyed it.  I am just not used to having so many points each day!  Yesterday, I used weekly points but I had a couple of "treats" that I probably shouldn't have, but oh well!

I have decided to get going with the diet portion of this weight loss, and introduce exercise slowly.  Now that the weather is nice, I hope to be out walking at least 2-3 days a week and am looking into joining an extreme body makeover class in a couple months.

Glad to be here and good luck to everyone on their WW journey!

    Hi and welcome!

I too, am trying to focus on the diet part first. Chasing a baby around all day, waking up with him at least once a night, AND working makes me too tired to workout. lol I try to squeeze in walks when I can, but for me the diet is the focus.

    Good luck!

I'm doing the same! I'm trying to get back into exercising (I was a regular, pretty intense exerciser pre-baby, and I just haven't gotten back into the swing of things yet). But I'm walking a lot more now that the weather is nice.

Seriously. My husband is a beast when it comes to food, and the lucky bastard doesn't gain an ounce. Dieting is so hard when he is constantly trying to gain weight.

Welcome! I recognize your cute siggy pic, so I know you've posted in these parts before!

Sounds like you're doing well. I don't BF, but I'd suggest that you probably want to make sure you eat all those points to protect your supply. (And I'm a little jealous that you get to eat more!)

  • I started count on Monday! So far I am down 1 pound. Which to me, seeing that number go down on the scale, even by one, was amazing. But I am also no longer breastfeeding (my milk supply completely stopped this morning).

While I am relieved that I won't have to take into consideration how much I am getting for Remy, I am of course still a little sad. I enjoyed our morning feedings while they lasted.

I have stuck to my points though! I only went over by 1 the very first day. And yesterday I came under by 7 I think.

Does anyone know how to change it from "combo feeding" to "no longer nursing"?

  • Oh, I almost forgot I have an actual WW activity question:

I noticed under the activity search that you can get points for time spent playing with kids, doing housework, etc. As far as playing with Mac goes, he's a little young for tag or anything, but I do play "airplane" and "toss the baby." I'd say the actual exercise time would be 10-15 minutes/day. I haven't counted any of this, nor have I counted housework, in my activity points. For some reason, it doesn't make sense to me to count stuff like this. I can only bring myself to add activity that is actually a work-out. Well, I do count walking the dog, but only if it's >20 minutes and we go pretty fast.

Do any of you count everyday activities like that to get extra points?

No. It seems like then I would be adding all these extra points, which I don't feel like I would really deserve.

I add points for walking the dog/baby, but that's it (ie: not vacuuming or anything.)
