Second time/ plus moms recommend yours. I know I've been through several brands before settling with Johnson's. Lansinoh were my 2nd runner ups because they felt "wet" a lot sooner and reminded me of a generic baby diaper. I also tried the nursing pads that had lanolin cream on them and HATED those. I figured since some are starting to leak, we could give recommendations to those FTM's.
Re: Nursing Pads-for leak protection
The Medela ones are like sandpaper for your nipples. Skip em.
The Lansinoh ones aren't horrible, but as the PP suggested, they are like a boob diaper.
I am going to try a bamboo washable pad from an etsy seller, Michelle, if you wash small things in a delicates bag, your washer shouldn't eat them!
I never really needed them much except for overnight, so I don't have much to say about them. I think the brand I used and liked was Gerber? I started with something else I didn't like, but can't remember what those were. And I had Lily Padz, and I actually really liked them, didn't have any problems with them.
I'm pretty sure this time I'll get washable ones though, from where I have no idea. I just had so much trouble with everything showing through my shirt, other than the Lily Padz. So I'm a little worried about that.
Though I really only used them at night, I also liked the Johnson's nursing pads. They were thicker than the Lansinoh (which everyone seemed to rave about) and didn't have an annoying plastic wrapper over them.
I think I might try washables this time, too. I vaguely remember a bunch of women on the EFF board raving about one particular Etsy seller's washable pads...let me see if I can dig up the name.
In the beginning, I went through a few sets a day. Then I got down to maybe two a day. Since I was using washables, I didn't mind changing them as often as I wanted... I used them for a while. Then again, I BF for 15 months. The washable were great!
What brands of washables did you like?
I think they were by Bravado... I really really liked them. I'm going to buy more this time around. I also had some from a popular etsy seller and I didn't like them at all.
I leaked ALL the time, and I BF. I probably went through 3 sets during the day and 2 at night. Honestly, it got worse probably around the 3rd month. And it's true that when baby starts getting hungry OR you hear any baby cry your boobs will start leaking. That is something that always bothered me. Lol. I understand it being your baby, but not EVERY baby.
FEED THE WORLD JANINNE!
I didnt BF long enough to notice this just that I leaked all the time even when the pump couldnt get anything out..
Crossing everything it works this time.
