Suggestions on hospitals/doctors in Nassau county?

Hi Everyone!

We are being relocated to Long Island in December. I will be halfway through my second trimester with my first baby and I am freaking out!

Can anyone please share/suggest a fabulous obgyn and hospital? So far, I have heard wonderful things about Winthrop and Long Island Jewish.

I would also looove to hear what people think about the towns in Nassau County. Neither my husband or I have ever been to Long Island. We are leaning towards Garden City.

 Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

    I really love Dr. Steven Seidman and Dr. Julia Aronovich.  They are only 2 OB's in a practice so you get to know them both very well, and one of them will deliver you.  They deliver at North Shore Manhasset Hospital.  Please e-mail me for more info rachmags22 at Gmail dot com if you are interested.  We used to live in Garden City too, and can fill you in on other "long island" stuff if you want :-)  Where are you moving from?

    If you end up on the shouth shore, I gave birth in South Nassau medical center, they have a brand new L&D dept, it's beautiful.  Winthrop is nice but it is a "baby factory", a lot of deliveries but there is little one to one care.  I used a midwife, Linda Jaworowski, she is affiliated with gentle care OB/GYN.  let me know if you want to know more about her and I'll give you her info.  Hope this helps.

    I live in Bellmore, LI and have been told by many of my friends that are nurses and friends that have had babies already say North Shore Manhassett and Winthrop as well. ?Those are the 2 that I am condiering as well. ?Good Luck with your move, Garden City is really nice I used to work there. ?Let me know if you need any LI advice or help. ?You can email me at krmagnifico@gmail.com

    Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset are the best hospitals in Nassua. They both have NICU units which is good to know just in case your baby needs extra care. LIJ Hospital is good,but the two others are typically preferred. My son was born at Winthrop last year and we had a great experience. Garden City is a very nice are of Nassau as well. This time around I am going to deliver at NS in Manhasset, my group is North Shore Obstetrics, Dr. Melgar. She is great, so is the entire group. The Dr. that delivered my son is great also, Dr. Jennifer Hanauer (sp).

    Hi!

    Could you, please, give me your impressions from delivering with Linda Jaworowski. I would greatly appreciate it.

    I have seen her a couple of times and I don't know what to think about her. On the one hand, she is a pleasant person, on the other hand, she doesn't seem to be knowledgeable and confident sometimes.

     Your sincere opinion would help a lot.

    i delivered at south nassau and it was great! Dr. Plotnitsky did my c-section. he is partners with Dr. Solomon (also fantastic) in long beach.?

    I know this was posted a LONG time ago...but hope that you still check your mail. I am interested in Linda Jaworowski. Could you give me your feelings about her. Was she someone you would recommend? I am going to try for a VBAC and was wondering how supportive she was of that.
